SALES EXECUTIVE (Collaborative Robots)

Our Company

For over 30 years SP Technology has been providing truly bespoke automation systems to a diverse range of industries Worldwide. We have served a wide range of industries from medical device and pharmaceutical, through to packaging, food and drink, plastics, electronics and automotive. As system integrators our extensive portfolio of solutions has helped our clients overcome hurdles including assembly, testing, packaging, filling and labelling to name but a few. Our full in-house expertise allows us to maintain full control of our projects, from the initial concept, through to manufacture and build prior to commissioning, training and after-sales support worldwide.

The Role

SP Technology is expanding  into a new market, this is a new division offering a range of “DIY” automation systems to end-users in the form of collaborative robots (Cobots) and accessories. This is a very exciting opportunity with full training on the Cobots and products.

SP Technology is looking for a driven person who can work with our team to develop this division. The key focus areas are initially Scotland and the NE of England although travel across the UK may be required.

Outline of roles and responsibilities:

  • Working with sales and marketing to develop strategies and market outlines
  • Marketing campaigns and Market research (working with internal marketing)
  • Visiting clients to carry out demonstrations
  • Work closely with sales and marketing to help develop new strategic approaches
  • Visiting clients to present proposals and discuss possible requirements when required

Minimum skills and experience:

  • Market research and identify clients
  • Currently working a capital sales based role
  • Excellent appointment maker with the ability to filter through enquiries and leads
  • Excellent communication both internally and with clients
  • Cold calling to allow potential markets and companies to see the offering and feedback
  • Good understanding of social media platforms and marketing to help promote the products and the benefits of SP Technology

Desirable skills and experience:

  • Experience of Hubspot CRM
  • Experience of selling into manufacturing industries and other untapped sectors
  • An Interest in automation and robotics systems (not necessarily experience)
  • Commercial awareness and a basic understanding of a capital equipment sales process

This role is likely to suit a business development\sales person who has a passion to understand new markets and the potential there, who is currently selling equipment or services and looking to progress their career in a new and exciting sector. Although we are an engineering solutions company, applicants from other sectors or industries are also encouraged to apply as this is as much about the person selling as it is about the product. The training package on offer will ensure your are full armed with the correct knowledge and tools to help make this role a success.

APPLICATIONS ENGINEER

Hours of Work: Full-time: 37.5 hours (some flexibility required)

Automation Systems Applications Engineer.

Due to an internal promotion, we have an exciting opportunity for an applications engineer to join our team at our Dundee facility and learn new skills and experience whilst enhancing those already attained. The focus of the role will be (under the supervision of our concepts manager), to apply your technical knowledge to concept automation solutions, based around information supplied by our sales team and clients.

As system integrators, the extensive portfolio of solutions has overcome hurdles that have been faced by our clients and have included assembly, testing, packaging, filling and labelling to name but a few. Our full in-house expertise allows us to maintain full control of our projects, from the initial concept, through to manufacture and build prior to commissioning, training and after-sales support worldwide.

Outline of roles and responsibilities:

  • Working with sales and engineering to produce concepts and proposals in response to clients requests for quotation (RFQ);
  • Produce required documentation for proposals including:
    • Drawings – using AutoCAD 2D and Inventor
    • Functional specifications
    • Quote costings
  • Work closely with sales and marketing to help develop new strategic approaches
  • Visiting clients to present proposals and discuss possible projects when required

Minimum skills and experience:

  • Ability to demonstrate being proficient in AutoCAD and Inventor
  • Qualified to a minimum of HNC in a mechanical engineering discipline
  • 2 years’ experience in a design related field
  • Comfortable communicating both internally and with clients

Desirable skills and experience:

  • Have an understanding of electro mechanical devices
  • Understanding of mechanisms
  • An interest in automation and robotics systems
  • Commercial awareness and a basic understanding of a capital equipment sales process
